1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Pressbook ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Pressbook provides a portfolio platform for user-generated content (UGC) creators to showcase their work to brands. The Service includes:
Portfolio website creation and hosting
Video hosting and display
Rate card functionality
Analytics and visitor tracking
Custom domain connection (on paid plans)
Email integration features
Portfolio sharing tools
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pressbook. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
You are at least 13 years old
You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
All information you provide is accurate and complete
4. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your account password
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
You may not:
Use another person's account without permission
Create an account using false or misleading information
Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the content you upload to Pressbook ("User Content"), including videos, images, text, and other materials. By uploading User Content, you grant Pressbook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
Store, display, and distribute your User Content through the Service
Create thumbnails and transcoded versions of videos
Display your portfolio to visitors you share it with
This license terminates when you delete your content or close your account, except where content has been shared with others or where we are required to retain it by law.
5.2 Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload User Content that:
Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
Contains sexually explicit material involving minors
Promotes illegal activities or violence
Contains malware or malicious code
Violates any applicable laws or regulations
Impersonates another person or entity
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, without notice.
5.3 Content Backup
You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your User Content. Pressbook is not responsible for any loss or corruption of your content.
6. Subscription Plans and Payment
6.1 Plans
Pressbook offers both free and paid subscription plans:
Free Plan: Limited features as described on our website
Creator Plan: £12/month (or £120/year) with additional features
Professional Plan: Pricing and features as described on our website
Features and pricing are subject to change with 30 days' notice.
6.2 Payment Terms
Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
All fees are in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated
Payment is processed through Stripe
You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
Fees are non-refundable except as required by law
6.3 Free Trials and Promotional Offers
We may offer free trials or promotional pricing. When a trial expires, your payment method will be charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
Special promotional pricing (such as "First 1,000 users: £10/month forever") is locked in for qualifying users and will not increase as long as their subscription remains active.
6.4 Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
You will retain access to paid features until the end of your billing period
No refunds are provided for partial months or unused portions of annual subscriptions
If you cancel, you can reactivate at any time, but promotional pricing may no longer be available
6.5 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you don't agree to the price change, you may cancel your subscription.
Users who locked in promotional pricing (e.g., "£10/month forever") will maintain that pricing as long as their subscription remains continuously active.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
Impersonate Pressbook, our employees, or other users
Collect or harvest personal information about other users
Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications
Resell or commercially exploit the Service without permission
8. Analytics and Tracking
8.1 Portfolio Analytics
Pressbook provides analytics about visitors to your portfolio, including:
IP addresses and approximate location (city, country)
Company/organization identification (when detectable)
Device and browser information
Viewing behavior (videos watched, time on site, actions taken)
By using Pressbook, you acknowledge that:
This data is collected automatically when visitors view your portfolio
We use third-party services (BigDataCloud, etc.) to identify visitor companies
Visitors' IP addresses are processed to provide these analytics
You are responsible for informing your visitors about this tracking if required by law
8.2 Your Use of Analytics Data
You agree to:
Use visitor data only for legitimate business purposes (tracking portfolio engagement)
Not use visitor data for harassment, spam, or unauthorized contact
Comply with applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) when using visitor data
Not sell or share visitor data with third parties without consent
8.3 Cookies and Tracking
Pressbook uses cookies and similar technologies to:
Remember your login session
Track visitor analytics
Improve the Service
Visitors to your portfolio may be tracked via cookies. You should include appropriate cookie notices on your portfolio if required by law.
9. Email Integration
9.1 Connecting Your Email
You may connect your email account (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) to Pressbook to:
Send portfolio links via email with tracking
Sync your inbox to identify UGC opportunities
Reply to brand inquiries through Pressbook
By connecting your email, you authorize Pressbook to:
Send emails on your behalf using your connected account
Read your inbox to identify relevant business opportunities
Store and process emails related to UGC collaborations
9.2 Email Usage Restrictions
You agree not to:
Use Pressbook's email features to send spam or unsolicited emails
Violate email providers' terms of service (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
Send emails that violate applicable laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.)
We reserve the right to disable email features if we detect abuse.
9.3 Email Data Privacy
Emails synced to Pressbook are stored securely and encrypted
We only analyze emails to identify business opportunities (not personal emails)
You can disconnect your email account at any time
When disconnected, synced emails are deleted within 30 days
10. Portfolio Sharing and Tracking
When you share your portfolio via Pressbook's direct sharing feature:
Unique tracking links are generated for each recipient
Email opens and link clicks are tracked
Recipients' viewing behavior is tracked and shown in your analytics
Recipients are identified by email address in your analytics
By using the sharing feature, you agree to:
Only send portfolio links to business contacts (brands, agencies, etc.)
Not use tracking data for harassment or unauthorized purposes
Comply with email marketing laws
11. Custom Domains
11.1 Connection
On paid plans, you may connect a custom domain (e.g., yourname.com) to your portfolio. You are responsible for:
Purchasing and maintaining your domain registration
Configuring DNS records as instructed
Renewing your domain registration
11.2 Domain Restrictions
You may not connect domains that:
Infringe on trademarks or intellectual property
Are misleading or deceptive
Contain obscene or offensive terms
Violate our content policies
We reserve the right to disconnect any domain that violates these restrictions.
12. Third-Party Services
Pressbook integrates with third-party services including:
Stripe for payment processing
Mux for video hosting
BigDataCloud for IP geolocation
Clearbit for company identification (optional)
Resend/SendGrid for email delivery
Google (Gmail) and Microsoft (Outlook) for email integration
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
13. Intellectual Property
13.1 Pressbook IP
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Pressbook and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not:
Copy, modify, or reverse engineer the Service
Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without permission
Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
13.2 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use that feedback without compensation or attribution.
14. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRESSBOOK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

Visitor identification or company detection
Geographic location data
Analytics metrics or statistics
Analytics are provided on a "best effort" basis using third-party data sources.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pressbook, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
Your use of the Service
Your User Content
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Your violation of applicable laws
18. Termination
18.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
Canceling your subscription (if applicable)
Deleting your account from settings

Upon termination:
Your access to paid features ends at the end of your billing period
Your User Content will be deleted within 30 days
Analytics data may be retained in aggregated, anonymized form
18.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

Your account is involved in illegal activity
We are required to do so by law
You fail to pay subscription fees
We will provide notice of termination when possible, but immediate termination may occur for serious violations.
18.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
Your right to use the Service ends immediately
You remain liable for any outstanding fees
Provisions of these Terms that should survive (indemnification, limitation of liability, etc.) remain in effect

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
19.2 Jurisdiction
You agree that any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
19.3 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@pressbook.co to attempt informal resolution. We'll try to resolve disputes within 30 days.
20. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
We will notify you via email (if you have an account)

Changes take effect 30 days after notice (or immediately for legal/security reasons)
Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
21. General Provisions
